Since the sport of Bodybuilding became mainstream in the 70s, more and more people have started looking more in-depth at it. A great amount of credit in making this happen must go to one of the greatest names in the field, Arnold Schwarzenegger. “The Austrian Oak” began bodybuilding at the age of 15, eventually migrating to the USA at 20 to build a career out of it.
Throughout his life, he’s donned many hats. This is including that of a political entity, business tycoon, and action hero. This seven-time Olympia winner had plenty of big names like Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates following his steps.

Arnold’s game has been quite impressive. So much so that even years after his retirement, they are still a topic of talk among other pro athletes. He is able to get a reaction from individuals who may have not directly shared the stage with him. One such persona is Dorian Yates, a former English Bodybuilding icon from the 90s.
Dorian explains that he and Arnold Schwarzenegger actually never conversed
In a YouTube video uploaded in 2020 on the channel Valuetainment, Dorian Yates sat face to face to spill trivia about his life. The dialogue went on about quite a diverse topic like Dorian’s six Olympia wins and other aspects of his career. But, he also spilled the beans on his relationships with other bodybuilders, stating that he’d never had a conversation with Schwarzenegger!

Around 50 minutes into the interview, the topic of Arnold came up. Dorian was asked what he thought about The Oak. He was initially all praises for him. But, he also added, “I’ve never haven’t really spoken to Arnold that much”
When asked why was there a certain division between the two while other physique athletes totally looked up to Arnold, Dorian had a straight answer. He said “they seek him out because maybe they can do something for them or whatever I never did that…” and ended by saying, “I don’t go to try to kiss anyone’s a**”

Without a doubt, Dorian and Arnold both have been pioneers of their generations. Arnold was quite a famous entity for his Greek god like figure: well-balanced chiseled body, and magnificent upper body definition. The late 70s were all about him. Arnold even won a very debated Mr. Olympia in 1980. But, still, he managed to flourish as usual.
