The stage of bodybuilding is very competitive. While many make their presence felt, there are few who miss the title by a few points. Kai Greene is no alien to the world of competitive bodybuilding. He works as a personal trainer, artist, and professional bodybuilder. Missing the title by a few scores, he secured the 2nd position consecutively from 2012 to 2014. He may have retired from the sport but still enjoys a massive fan following. And one of his many fans is the 4x Mr. Olympia winner, Jay Cutler, himself.

Though Kai never announced his retirement formally, he has never competed professionally, since 2014. His absence was evident. When Jay was asked, “Do you feel the sports are lagging something with the absence of Kai?” The bodybuilding champ had tons to share.

Kai may not have won notable titles like Cutler, but he won hearts. The 5’8″ bodybuilder, had an impeccable physique, and an unmissable stage presence. As Cutler, in his 2017 interview with Generation Iron Fitness Network, quoted, Kai Greene is a character.”

Having watched Kai closely, the champion quoted“Kai Greene is the only character, and I don’t mean that in any harsh way, but he’s created this branding, where he’s an inspiration to so many people, and he’s got so many other talents.”

He further added, “He’s going to find a more comfortable place now for them off the stages not to be restrictive whether it be in film or whatever.” Jay also added that he was not bothered about what Kai Greene will be pursuing in the future because, he was confident that he will do great. The key reason Jay felt was Kai’s passion! He acknowledged that without passion, one could not really do anything, and he appreciated Kai for having the zest to do things. 

That Quality that made Cutler a winner

For Jay having passion is most important. It is the driving force that helps one achieve and pursue dreams. His indomitable spirit undeniably helped him pursue a road that was not easy. Jay was 19, when he won the famous heavyweight class, at NPC Teen Nationals in 1993.

Since then, he has never looked back. He had his fair share of hurdles, but none were more significant than his passion for turning dreams into reality. He took his pro card in his first attempt at the 1996 NPC Nationals. The six times runner-up and four times title winner, Jay Cutler, is undoubtedly an inspiration to look up to!
