“Don’t Just Study and Learn”: Father-of-Five Arnold Schwarzenegger Shares a Golden Advice He Keeps Reiterating to Students

Bodybuilding icon Arnold Schwarzenegger has lived many lives. And his political career too has an honorable mention in every household in California. While serving as the Governor of California in 2004, the Governator devised a visionary plan for the state’s public schools. Accelerating the same vision even today, the USC Schwarzenegger Institute has been equipping the next generation with the right to education.

Elex Michaelson recently spoke with the seven-time Mr. Olympia. Therein, Schwarzenegger explained how he teaches the younger generation at his academy using his expertise. He has five children, all of whom have gone on to do great things in their own right. And so, he has first-hand experience shaping the next generation of the United States.

Arnold Schwarzenegger proves his words with a perfect example

The video started off with Schwarzenegger’s advice. He said, “At Schwarzenegger’s Institute, I always tell students, don’t just study and learn, also think about how you can actually make a difference.” His reputation rested on the claim that he never shied away from getting right to the heart of an issue, preferring to do so over ignoring it and piling on more and more complications.

He used a personal anecdote to illustrate his point. He said a pothole appeared after the Southern California Gas Company had finished working in the area. While riding his bike, Schwarzenegger noticed a pothole that grew larger and larger with each rainstorm.

Even after several complaints from residents including Schwarzenegger, the pothole remained so until April 2023. The legendary bodybuilder took it under his stride to handle the situation. When Schwarzenegger saw the potholes, he quickly rallied his friends to help. To fix the road, he contacted them and reconstructed it with asphalt.

The aftermath of filling the potholes

In January 2023, potholes began appearing all throughout town, and Arnold Schwarzenegger and his friends did a fantastic job of helping the inhabitants fix them. The Southern California Gas Company, however, claims that it was a service trench and has brought the matter to the attention of the current mayor.

According to Schwarzenegger, the corporation has been dishonest with reporters covering the story by claiming, among other things, that the service trench was finished in January 2023. Schwarzenegger further elaborated on the company’s dissemination of “misinformation” rather than fixing the pothole, which he said may have led to serious accidents in the area.
