While speaking to Jimmy Kimmel the 43-year-old talked about bouncing from one rejection to another. When Kimmel asked him about wanting to “play a super hero,” Pratt engaged in some self-deprecating humor. “I set the bar low enough. I don’t want to go back to serving food to people,” said the GOTG star as everyone laughed.

Pratt elaborated on his struggles. “I auditioned for them all… had a rough run,” he said. The action star also revealed that he auditioned for Thor (2011)“not even to be Thor but to be one of… the sidekick guys…” However, the Jurassic World star got rejected there as well. Kimmel then asked what else he had audited for.

Schwarzenegger’s son-in-law revealed he even tried to bag a role in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise. “It was like this guy walks in and he’s got the ‘IT factor’… over and over again. I was like, well, I definitely don’t have that ‘IT factor’,” Pratt said. However, once he got his opportunity to star in MCU’s GOTG, Chris Pratt hit it out of the park.

On the other hand even at 75, Arnold Schwarzenegger, according to a report by Gaint Freaking Robot, will star as a Na’vi in Avatar 4, slated for release in 2026. The franchise his son-in-law couldn’t star in. However, the bodybuilding legend will make his return to acting much sooner than 2026.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back

In less than a month, the seven-time Mr. Olympia will grace TV screens across the world in his TV Show debut with Netflix’s FUBAR. Even at 75, the Terminator actor didn’t stray from his action hero roots, as he will play a CIA operative on the verge of retirement. He will star opposite Monica Barbaro of Top Gun: Maverick fame.

It’s also not surprising that Schwarzenegger finally bagged a role in the multi-billion dollar Avatar franchise. In 2013, the True Lies actor was rumored to star in Avatar 2. While that never happened, it looks like the 75-year-old will get his wish to work with James Cameron again.
