The 1990s has seen phenomenal bodybuilders competing for Mr. Olympia. Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, and Lee Haney are some of the elite bodybuilders who made it big in the bodybuilding arena during that time. Though Lee Labrada hasn’t fetched the Mr. Olympia title in his bodybuilding career, his name is well known in the community as he could earn a position in the top 4 in the most prestigious stage for seven consecutive years.

The author of The Lean Body Promise also runs Lee Labrada Show on YouTube where he has conversations with professional athletes, CEOs, mental health professionals, etc. In his latest episode with Lee Haney, Labrada spilled the beans about his Masters Olympia debut.

It is done and dusted for Lee Labrada

While having a fun conversation with co-competitor Lee Hanley, Lee Labrada opens up about his participation in the upcoming Masters Olympia competition in Romania. Speaking with Hanley, Labrada recollects an instance when someone said to him “Hey, we’re bringing the Masters Olympia back and you should come back.

Labrada was quick to answer, “Do I look like I have a hole in my head?” before bursting into laughter as Hanley followed the suit. He explained his decision not to get back to competitions by saying, “Been there, done it, enjoyed every minute of it. But I have moved on to other parts of my life, my family, my business.” Labrada was seemed content with his pro-bodybuilding career and doesn’t want to compete anymore.

The bodybuilder duo spoke about their career, Mr.Olympia, overcoming setbacks, retirement, and much more. Speaking about bodybuilding, Labrada said in the show, “I told Hunter, bodybuilding is an intrinsic reward in and of itself. It’s that journey.” Hunter Labrada, son of Lee, is making his name by his own right in the sport as he ended up 4th in Mr. Olympia,2021.

The 63-year-old is still a fitness king

Labrada receded from bodybuilding competitions but not from the sport itself. The-mass-with-class bodybuilder still hits the gym at 63 and maintains a 22-and-half-inch biceps leaving his followers in awe. He often gives fitness tips and tricks on his Instagram channel which inspires many including his son.

We rarely see personalities who promptly justifies the phrase, ‘Passion is not bound by age.’ And Lee Labrada is one of them. The bodybuilder at 63 still does his bit by educating rookies, and inspiring amateurs.
