Though Arnold Schwarzenegger and his son Joseph Baena began their acting careers in their 20s, their journeys have been different. While Arnold Schwarzenegger switched lanes after bodybuilding, it was Baena’s childhood dream to become an actor. Recently, Baena opened up about his acting career to ComingSoon, indicating his desire to act as a superhero in a Marvel or DC movie.

His revelations indicate how he wishes to carve a different legacy as compared to his father who is known for his roles as the cyborg assassin Terminator, and the DC comics supervillain, Mr. Freeze. Sharing intriguing insights about the future roles he would like to play, Baena delved into how bodybuilding as a sport, helped him in his career. With this, the young actor also recounted his experience shooting for his upcoming movie Gunner.

Relating how he took to bodybuilding in his junior and senior years in college, Baena shared that he developed a deep love for the sport. Later, responding to ComingSoon about whether it helped find a segue into acting, Baena stated, “Absolutely, because if the director asks me to take the shirt off-I’m ready!” while laughing. Continuing, Baena related that since he had been training for some time, he knew various strategies to gain weight or lose weight for acting roles.

“Maybe I’ll get a superhero role soon with Marvel or DC”, Baena hoped, adding that he knew how to prepare for such roles. Answering the question about his dream role, Baena stated, “There are a lot of movies I’d love to be in, but right now, I’d love to be in 1) a western, 2) a superhero film, or 3) part of the Star Wars galaxy in some way.”

Excited about his upcoming film Gunner, Baena the script and the film. In the movie, Baena plays the role of the cop Wally. Talking about how working with Luke Hemsworth and Morgan Freeman was a dream brought to life in reality, Baena hinted at how he was overjoyed being cast in the film by director Dimitri Logotheti.
