Winning the Mr. Olympia title four times, bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler knows all the secrets about the perfect workout. He is also aware of the mistakes that could prevent one from training various body parts in a short time. In a 2022 workout video, Cutler finally disclosed the reason he could train a lot within a short time. He also took a firm view against a practice that could hamper training.

Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler discloses his workout practices

During a recent workout session with Urs Kalecinski, Cutler spoke about his disapproval of the intense repetition of exercises. He said, “I didn’t train for failure… My reps weren’t pushed to that, so it was, my recovery was a little faster.”

Cutler revealed that he took short periods of rest between exercises, explaining that training too hard would reduce the volume of exercise done in a short time. The bodybuilding legend also said that food and rest were significant. He added, “I would sleep 8-10 hours a night.”

The four-time Mr. Olympia shed light on the two different times of the day he trained. In a comment that reflected his commitment and dedication to bodybuilding, Cutler said, “I train at 7:30 in the morning and I train again around two.”

The bodybuilding champion also gave credit to Chris Aceto for helping him with the appropriate diet and training for bodybuilding. This helped him to build his desired physique. 

Jay Cutler’s disclosure about the reason for his leg growth

Jay Cutler attributed the reason for his leg growth to his stretching exercises. He further disclosed that before every competition, he did stretching exercises for 20 minutes daily after his morning workout. Further, the four-time Mr. Olympia revealed that he visited a sauna for a stretching workout before a bodybuilding competition.
