Ronnie Coleman, the bodybuilding legend, did multiple jobs before he landed a position in the police department. Genetically blessed with an impressive body that favored him in his Mr. Olympia pursuits, he is also a person of excellent business acumen, as witnessed in his supplement company. In a 2019 interview, he even shared the secret to his business’ success. 

He made noteworthy accomplishments in every role he undertook. In 2021, he celebrated the 10th anniversary of his supplement business with the most-awaited fitness app, Yeah Buddy. In the interview, he shared what it took to build a successful business.

Ronnie Coleman put his business goals above everything

Whether it’s bodybuilding or business, the eight-time Mr. Olympia took no shortcuts. As a visionary with a thriving ambition, Coleman built a supplement business to cater to the fitness needs of enthusiasts with trustworthy and reliable products. “We are more than just supplements… we are a lifestyle.”

The interviewer asked Ronnie how he was so successful in his business ventures. He paced down and said, “The secret to my success in business is hard work.” Adding more detail, he said, “I didn’t sleep for like three days at a time….I was so busy trying to get my company off the ground but once it did get off the ground, you know it’s very successful.”

The bodybuilding legend also shared that he has a degree in accounting. Having roots in business as early as in college days, fair to say, it came in handy to utilize the skills to achieve his business goals.

Coleman’s vision to take bodybuilding to the masses

The Yeah Buddy fitness app attempts to simplify fitness and flex alongside the peak-phase Ronnie. He undertook this challenge despite knowing it needs a lot of effort. The revolutionizing fitness app is a result of 18 months of work and the input of experts worldwide.

The app includes everything one needs to manage their fitness journey. It was a major shift from his supplement business and when asked what he thought about shifting his focus to a tech-driven venture, he said“I never back down from a challenge, and if technology can make getting in shape more attainable, then I’m all for it.”
