Ronnie Coleman has an interesting story about his introduction to the bodybuilding world. The eight-time Mr. Olympia started with very little. Later, he received a scholarship to complete his high-school studies. Subsequently, he went on to join the police force, working in Arlington, Texas. Coleman served there during the period from 1989 to 2003, managing some years along with his bodybuilding career.

Initially, Coleman wasn’t too fond of the idea of entering the bodybuilding industry. He once revealed the actual reason behind his hesitancy to become a professional bodybuilder.
Why was Ronnie Coleman hesitant to enter the bodybuilding world?
While working for the police force, Coleman’s colleague took him to Metroflex Gym, where Brian Dobson, the owner of the gym, asked Coleman, if he ever considered pursuing professional bodybuilding. Talking about this, Dobson said, “You need to compete. You could be world champion one day.”
Further, Coleman said, “I told him I didn’t want to do it at the time. I just got on at the police department and I didn’t like being on a diet and having to take drugs like I’d heard to those guys did. I didn’t know anything about bodybuilding.”

Eventually, Coleman selected the perfect career for himself as he entered bodybuilding in 1990. Subsequently, he went on to become one of the most successful bodybuilders, winning a record eight Mr. Olympia titles. Along with Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is regarded as one of the greatest professional bodybuilders.
Coleman on his rivalry with Jay Cutler
The eight-time Mr. Olympia, recently, shared a picture with his rival, Jay Cutler, on his official Instagram handle. In the picture, the two could be seen showing off their physique during the Mr. Olympia competition. Further, Coleman said, “My boy @JayCutler & I have one of the Greatest Rivalry to ever hit the Olympia stage!!”
