The Ronnie Coleman training program is subjected to parental guidance. The level of training he underwent is astonishing. Therefore, many people suggest this is the reason for his health struggles. But for Ronnie, it was much more than that. He wanted to become the greatest bodybuilder of all time. Owing to this, he worked out intensively for several years. Fans believed it was the sole reason for his aggravating injuries.

But Coleman had a different notion. He stresses how his workout routines were never to blame. For starters, imagine the pressure a human body is under when they lift 800lbs of pure weight. It’s what Ronnie did. And it was a sight to behold. For him, that was his nirvana.

Ronnie Coleman never blamed those hard workouts

Before we got into the training methods of Coleman to get a clearer perspective, Coleman discussed how this was not the reason for his injury problems. As fans suggested about the miraculous 800lbs deadlift, Coleman believed it was not the reason for having surgeries on his disc, hip, and other body parts.

“I mean I didn’t hurt myself lifting or squatting 800 pounds. I didn’t hurt myself while I was training. It might be a combination of everything over the years but I don’t know for sure. Personally I don’t think so,” said Coleman.

Coleman never dreamt of becoming a bodybuilder at the earlier stages of his career. However, once he relished the ride, he never looked back. More than a bodybuilder, he could lift weights that other bodybuilders couldn’t.

What caused his injuries?

From a fan’s perspective, it probably looks clear Ronnie injured his disc by lifting monumental weights. He trained six days per week, mixing high-volume push/pull/ legs routine. Likewise, Coleman did 3-5 exercises and worked out in the 8-15 reps range. Considering the amount, the weights he lifted were staggering. Bench pressing 200lbs dumbbells are just an example of his training methods.
