James Cameron wouldn’t do it today

The 3D version of the blockbuster action movie was released as the ‘Skynet Edition’. The version features a stunt where the Austrian Oak’s stuntman “runs onto the back of the tow truck and fires a gun.” Cameron described it as the most dangerous stunt he’s ever been involved with.

The award-winning director said he couldn’t use a digital double those days as done in the 21st century. Peter Kent, the stunt double, performed the stunt “perfectly.” However, it was no easy ordeal. “..there was no forgiveness for that stuff–you either did it right or you were dead,” he explained.
