A few days ago, fitness influencer Joey Swoll shared yet another gym video from TikTok on his Instagram. Unlike most of his videos, where Swoll had to point out the wrong, this flawless video carried a positive message. In it, a young woman could be seen struggling while finishing the reps of her incline dumbbell press. Noticing her situation from afar, a man came closer and asked her if she needed help.

When the woman nodded, he moved behind her and assisted her in finishing the exercise. In recent times, there have been many cases where such acts of kindness have been seen in a negative light by the receivers. Instead of thanking the helper, the videos have been shared on TikTok calling the helper various derogatory names. However, instead of doing that, this young woman shared the video thanking the man for his kindness.

Along with the clip from the gym, Swoll added a message of his own in the video. Thanking the woman, he said, “Thank you that young woman for such an amazing video. This is the type of gym culture that we need more of today.”

Furthermore, Swoll claimed this was the kind of gym culture he grew up in. It is normal for people like him to give a helping hand to a stranger at the gym. While the gym is a place to better oneself, he believes it is also a place for brother-sisterhood. “We are there to support each other, help each other, spot each other whenever needed. The gym community of today needs more of this.”
