Despite Rivalry With Donald Trump, Arnold Schwarzenegger Revealed an Unusual Habit That He Liked in 2020

We are all aware of the infamous feud between Arnold Schwarzenegger and former US president, Donald Trump. The rivalry that sparked in 2016 has taken an incessant flight since then. From trading jabs on Twitter to engaging in verbal spats, Arnie and Trump have used every means to express their disdain for each other. In spite of having a discord on political issues, the Austrian Oak once praised Trump for his amiability towards Arnie.

Prior to their strife, both Republican members shared a close-knit friendship. 3 years ago, in a conversation with James Corden, Schwarzenegger was asked about Trump’s behavior. On this, he revealed that the former US President is rather congenial behind the scenes.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed the soft side of Donald Trump

In 2020, the former governor of California appeared in the Late Late Show with James Corden. Interestingly, the host asked Schwarzenegger some intriguing questions in a Q&A session called ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’. At one point, Corden asked the Terminator about the worst thing that Trump had said in private. In answer to Corden’s intrigue, he stated, “in private, he always was very nice”.

Schwarzenegger further added, “I think he was always kind of nice in private”. However, the bodybuilder then took into consideration their Twitter squabble and further mentioned, “in public, I think he’s very mean-spirited”.

Furthermore, the 7x Olympia champion also opened up, about the first instance that ignited the feud between the two. As per the interview, Schwarzenegger declined to endorse Trump’s presidential campaign. Since then, both Republicans have continued to butt heads on political issues.

Why did Arnie refuse to help Trump?

In 2016, when Arnie refused to help Trump with his presidential elections, and in turn, Trump took to his Twitter to express his disappointment towards the bodybuilder. Explaining his reasons for not accepting Trump’s offer, Schwarzenegger once revealed, “I didn’t accept his money because he was with the gaming industry, and we didn’t accept any gaming money”. 

Furthermore, Schwarzenegger elaborated that he did not endorse Trump “with his campaign because of his environmental stands”.
