The bodybuilding world cherishes the legendary Lee Haney for his contributions to the sport. Before the advent of ‘The King’ Ronnie Coleman, it was Lee Hanley who was reigning the stage of Mr. Olympia and to date, he shares the record of holding the maximum number of Mr. Olympia titles, a whopping eight, with Ronnie Coleman.

Known as ‘TotaLee Awesome’, Lee Haney now speaks about the significance of good health in one’s life, especially towards the latter half. Posting a picture of him enjoying his old age days with his wife and cute little granddaughters, Haney elaborates on the road toward a healthy lifestyle.

Lee Haney is grateful for his good health at 60+ age

Haney reflects his state of mind as he wrote“ feeling good,” in an Instagram post. Though he can’t run as fast as he could or recover super fast in his 60s, he finds himself enjoying the kickball competition or a roll in the grass along with his grandkids. These are the moments he cherishes as he keeps his family above everything.

The old couple is visibly happy as they pose with their granddaughters as the 63-year-old bodybuilding maestro captions it, “ Shirley and I are enjoying the blessings of good health. Being able to roll in the grass with the grandkids and playing kickball is one of the greatest benefits.” 

A healthy lifestyle is a prerogative for enjoying good health, believes Haney, as he writes,” It’s true that if you sow the seeds of good health, You will reap the harvest!”

The 8x Mr. Olympia champion, however, recognizes the efforts required to be in the best health. “I’d be the first to admit that exercise is not always comfortable. Watching tv while chilling on the sofa and snacking on chips is,” he reflected as he stresses that to feel good one should prioritize exercise, work on regulating stress, and habituate clean eating methods.

Feeling good is more than a notion! It has to be intentional 24/7” he added.

Lee Haney speaks about age management

The process of aging starts once we are born, however, one can work on managing age. Haney points out, “ If you don’t manage age it will manage you!” The bodybuilding legend gives tips on acing the age management process. According to him, a plant-based diet and certified spring water work magic in reversing the aging process.

He suggests including at least a half-an-hour workout regime into the daily routine. Moreover, he added that walking is the best way to start implementing the routine and one could feel good by incorporating good habits like practicing meditation, going on a casual walk to enjoy the sunshine, and hearing some smooth jazz apart from a grateful prayer.

Haney suggested reading his book “ Fit at Any Age” to get a comprehensive understanding of how to feel good in the second innings of life. He ended his post with the words “ Choose Life!”
