Former rivals Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman are now good friends. The two were seen having a good time in the gym with YouTube sensation Jesse James West at the 2022 Mr. Olympia weekend. Capturing the entertaining interaction between the two legends, West recently posted a new video on his YouTube channel.
Ronnie Coleman ruled the stage of the biggest bodybuilding contest for nearly a decade. Having won eight Mr. Olympia titles earned him the nickname, The King. However, it was Cutler who put an end to his reign in 2006. But the two rivals were often seen playing around on stage despite intense competition. In 2022, both returned to the same competition, but this time as friends and not rivals.

Jay Cutler talks about the difference between their training routines
On January 8, 2023, Jesse James West uploaded a video on his YouTube channel featuring the two legends of the bodybuilding world. In less than a week, the video titled Training w/ Ronnie Coleman & Jay Cutler has accumulated over 1.3 million views on the platform. At one point in the 9:51 minutes long video, Cutler commented on how different bodybuilders have different training styles. He also admitted that he wouldn’t have been able to train the way Coleman did.
“Everyone has their style, though. I couldn’t train how Ronnie trained,” said the 4x Mr. Olympia. “I’m sure he looked at some of my training was teaching that thinking now if that doesn’t work…,” he added before getting interrupted by a laughing Coleman.
Cutler further explained the difference in training between him and James West. “There’s certain training like we train as bodybuilders. You train as a men’s physique guy,” said Mr. Fourth Quarter. Furthermore, at one point during their training session, Cutler revealed that he was scared of Coleman on the stage.

Jesse James West asked Coleman if he ever felt threatened by Cutler on stage. To this, the King confidently replied that he used to focus on what he was doing instead of focusing on his competitors. West then directed the same question to Cutler, who admitted that he felt scared while standing next to Ronnie Coleman on the stage.
Though Cutler eventually became the one who dethroned the King, he has gone on record to say that he “didn’t beat the best Ronnie Coleman.” Cutler believes that both he and Coleman weren’t in their best form on the day of the competition in 2006. However, he just happened to be in better form among the two of them.
