“Could Have Ruined My Father’s Career”: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Daughter Compromised Her Lifestyle for Father’s Reputation, She Admitted in 2011

Arnold Schwarzenegger is rightly called a legendary personality. Changes in his professional life brought with them changes in his personal life as well. Katherine, Arnold’s daughter, revealed the challenges she had faced as a politician’s daughter in 2011.

Although Katherine is used to the glamour and glory of hailing from a reputed political dynasty of the Kennedys, she faced several unprecedented challenges as the Governor’s daughter. Well aware of being under watch, in the interview, she shared how she curtailed her teen lifestyle to secure her father’s image.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger made his entry into the politics

Katherine was 13 when the Austrian Oak was first elected as the Governor of California in 2003. In the interview, she shared that being the Governor’s daughter, “..it’s a totally different amount of pressure put on you to be perfect.” Besides, she is the eldest kid in the Schwarzenegger-Shriver household.

Katherine recounted the sudden onset of change in her life from being an actor’s kid to a political daughter. She shared how conscious she was of her activities while stating, “It could have ruined my father’s career if I was caught drunk driving or something like that.”

As a 13-year-old, she was careful with her behavior to preserve her image. Also, “because you don’t want it to influence how people view your parents or things like that.” However, that doesn’t mean it was easy being a former bodybuilding champion’s daughter.

Challenges of having Schwarzenegger in her last name

Until Katherine went to college, she didn’t realize the impact of ‘Schwarzenegger’ in her name. She had to deal with a myriad of issues every day due to her last name. “I am hyperconscious about it,” she explained.

While girls didn’t bother her much but boys quickly started a conversation “about my dad and weight lifting or how to do a proper bicep curl.” She would wonder whether they wanted to date her father or her. “Like, I can arrange that for you,” she joked.
