Fighters never quit and an Australian bodybuilder proved just that after contracting cancer. After being told that he had myeloid leukemia, bodybuilder James Kearsley prepared himself for a tough fight. Documenting his unbelievable struggle on social media, the bodybuilder shared exclusive details about his struggles. 

Kearsley also described the impact of the disease on his exercise and workouts. Talking about his mindset during the disease, the bodybuilder shared untold details about his unbelievable recovery.

James Kearsley’s untold disclosure about his cancer diagnosis, recovery and bodybuilding  journey

“My diagnosis was found rather early due to me being a blood donor”, James revealed to the Mirror. The bodybuilder told how he “had to begin chemotherapy treatment immediately”, after this shocking news in 2013. Kearsley had to take 3 cycles of chemotherapy treatment to treat his disease. 

Later, Kearsley recounted his mindset while battling the ubiquitous disease.  “Negative thinking brings literally no benefits, so I would never give it the time of day”, Kearsley spoke. It was this positive attitude that encouraged him to participate in a 2015 bodybuilding contest after his brief recovery. Unfortunately, Kearsley was diagnosed with cancer once again in December 2015. Afterwards, Kearsley spoke about the bone marrow transplant that saved him


In another video, Kearsley recounted how he went to Melbourne for the transplant in March 2016.  He also talked about how his mother and his friend Ben came to Melbourne with him to support him. Later, Kearsley credited his weight training and fitness for his recovery. This shows Kearsley’s strong belief in the role fitness plays in achieving optimum health.

James Kearsley talks about the impact of sharing his cancer struggle

The online star expressed how several people took inspiration from his struggle. Continuing, he elaborated on how many people shared their unique cancer battles which helped him. “That is something that motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing”, Kearsley expressed.  Needless to say, Kearsley’s unbelievable struggle has made both him and his fans stronger.
