Big Ramy’s defeat in Mr. Olympia 2022 not only forced him to reflect but change a few things around. In a recent 2023 interview, Big Ramy’s coach Chad Nicholls spoke openly about the Egyptian bodybuilder’s defeat. Admitting what went wrong, Nicholls explained the new changes made to prepare better for Arnold Classic 2023. 

The Prime Time Muscle interview of the bodybuilding coach was broadcasted on 23rd February where Terrick El Guindy and Christopher Cormier were the hosts. Responding to Terrick El Guindy’s question about Big Ramy’s current status, Nicholls explained how Big Ramy’s physique had improved. Further, Nicholls elucidated the noticeable changes in Big Ramy’s physique. What is so different around this time? Let’s find out.

Nicholls remarked on what went wrong at Mr. Olympia 2022. “We had a disaster with his posing,” Nicholls admitted. Continuing, he stated, “We went back and kind of you know dug deep… Lot of the things obviously everyone knows.. the leg issues, the triceps issues.” Further, he elaborated on how Big Ramy’s posing had to be completely changed. 

Later, disclosing how Big Ramy was disappointed about the Olympia 2022’s outcome, Nicholls explained the future course of action. “We kind of scrapped everything that we had done before because honestly even some of the things that had worked you know in past years 2020 and 2021 didn’t work this year because the body has changed.”  Adding to this, Nicholls shedded light on changes in Big Ramy’s training and the focus on cardio exercises.

Nicholls confirms that Big Ramy’s back and legs have improved. He then elaborated on how the divots (dents) in the legs were gone now. Continuing, he implied how the veins were now deep and lined to the hip. This was not the only time Chad Nicholls had spoken after Big Ramy’s defeat. In an Instagram post, Nicholls shared the approach Big Ramy and he adopted while preparing for Arnold Classic 2023.

Nicholls shared this Instagram post on 20th January 2023. He captioned the post, “We don’t TALK- we WORK and it’s time for @big_ramy and me to go back to WORK.”

Nicholls also shared a glimpse of Big Ramy’s best physique during Mr. Olympia 2021 in this Instagram post. With this, he told fans that he will be there in Columbus for Arnold Classic 2023. Clearly, Nicholls and Big Ramy are gearing up for a strong comeback in Arnold Classic 2023.
