Reigning Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead is prepared to defend his title at the super bowl of bodybuilding, the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest. However, before stepping on stage to compete against the best bodybuilders in the world, Chris penned a heartfelt tribute to his fiance Courtney King on Instagram.
Courtney King and Bumstead began dating in 2018. Since then, the couple has been through thick and thin together. King has always encouraged Bumstead to excel at his passion, and his heartfelt note proves how much the reigning champion values King’s presence in his life.

Chris Bumstead couldn’t have done it without her
Bumstead posted a still with his fiance, Courtney King, less than 24 hours before the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest. The reigning champion wrote a heartwarming caption for his fiance and thanked her for his success. “I wouldn’t be able to be my best without you,” wrote the three-time champion. In the image, King and Bumstead hold one another in a half embrace.

“Walking into tomorrow with more confidence with you by my side.” added Bumstead. The caption showed what King’s support means to Bumstead, as the three-time champion also feels more confident than ever.
In the last line of the post, the bodybuilder proclaimed his love for King. “Time to do what we do,” wrote Bumstead. The champion bodybuilder’s fiance commented on the post and motivated her future husband. “Now let’s go get it!!!!”, wrote Courtney King as she urged Bumstead to make history and win his fourth subsequent Mr. Olympia Classic Physique title.
Bumstead is looking to retain his title and feels lucky to have had King’s support for the last three years. They first met at the Arnold Classic in 2017, and since then King has always rooted for Bumstead from the stands. In October, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram.
Chaos at the weigh-ins
Among those threatening to dethrone Chris Bumstead as the champion this year is Brazilian Ramon Dino. However, controversy began brewing at the weigh-ins when Ramon reportedly missed weight. After taking Dino’s weight and height, the officials declared he was four pounds over the weight limit and instructed him to cut the weight in one hour.

It was when Dino’s coach Chris Aceto requested the officials to re-evaluate, that they realized their mistake. Turns out, they’d made a mistake in logging Dino’s height. He hopped on the scales while officials gauged his weight against the correct height measurement. After the re-evaluation, the officials concluded that the Brazilian had made weight.
