Acting is much more than just reiterating dialogues on the screen. It is about getting into the zone and personality of the character and adapting to its physical and emotional attributes. Hollywood star Chris Pratt’s astonishing physical transformation, for his role in the 2012 thriller Zero Dark Thirty, was recently highlighted in a video released by YouTuber Will Cozens.
Will Cozens is a YouTuber who talks about movie stars, health, fitness, and entertainment on his channels. In his latest video, where he edited multiple interview clips of Pratt, he focuses on the physical attributes of the actor before and after working in the movie released in 2012.

Chris Pratt admitted that he wasn’t the fittest of the actors in Hollywood in the early phase of the last decade. However, the challenging roles that came his way made him change his ways. In an interview, Pratt confessed, “I can’t believe I would eat five cheeseburgers for lunch.” However, as Cozens put it, Pratt “had one of the biggest Hollywood transformations of all time”.
In one of the interviews, Pratt revealed how long he took to prepare for his look in Zero Dark Thirty. He said, “I had a deadline to play a SEAL team six members, so I got had about five or six months. And I just really busted my ass to get into good shape.” However, the result couldn’t stay on long as he had to yet again revert to his previous avatar after the movie wrapped. “And then after I wrapped the movie almost immediately I gained uh like sixty pounds to play a role kind of despondent, emasculated character that was like fat and unhappy,” Pratt explained.
However, the next project changed the direction of Pratt’s career forever. It was when he was offered the role of Peter Quill in the Marvel Studios movie Guardians of the Galaxy. And that, yet again demanded the actor to be in his best physique.

After gaining 60 lbs back for a movie, it was time to cut it all out to become a superhero. And for that, the Hollywood trainer, Duffy Gaver, helped transform Pratt to play Peter Quill in the MCU. However, it wasn’t a straightforward process. It took them eight months of dedication and hard work to cut 60 lbs of fat. And for that, Pratt stuck to a diet that helped him with his transformation.

To attain his exquisite physique, he ate 4000 calories a day. Cozens revealed, “It was high protein, moderate fat and lower carbs. It looked like this: for your protein sources- whole eggs, chicken breasts, fish and steak. For fats, it was grass-fed butter, coconut oil, avocado and nuts. And then carbs sources- broccoli, spinach and other green vegetables, sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal and berries.”
