In recent years, Griffen has come out as a rising talent in the bodybuilding world. While coping with his mother’s passing, bodybuilding helped Griffen to convert his anger and aggression into something productive. It prevented him from going on a downward spiral. Slowly but steadily, he is climbing up the ladders of success in the field.

Charles Griffen has locked in his target

Recently, Charles appeared in an interview with Rx Muscle, wherein he spoke about his preparation and plans for the upcoming Mr. Olympia 2022. Griffen shared that he plans to shock everyone at the event with his performance. He added that rather than setting just one ultimate goal for the competition, he has something else in mind. While he is there to win and would have no qualms if and when he does, he won’t be upset if he doesn’t. However, there is another thing that he’ll make sure he gets—getting his name in the top ten.

Explaining his strategy for the upcoming tournament, Griffen said, “I’m probably about anywhere from like… six to eight pounds heavier on stage […] I’ve been getting that my whole career, man. I always got to prove myself. So, it ain’t nothing new from what I had been doing previous. It is what it is. I’m going to wake their a** up, and shock them in, and they’re going to eat their words. That’s what it’s all about.”

He further added that the competition would be arduous. It would be a neck-to-neck fight between the current toughest ones. Hence, he would be happy with his result as long as he makes it to the top ten. “I know it’s a lot of us great bodybuilders going to be on stage and to get into the top 10, that’s a blessing right there, so anywhere in the top 10, I’m happy. If I fall out of the top 10, then I’ll be disappointed, but anywhere in there, I’ll be happy, man,” said Griffen.

Griffen’s achievements so far

Charles Griffen took part in his first bodybuilding competition in 2014, wherein he secured the 1st position in the 2014 NPC Minnesota State Light Heavyweight. The following year in 2015 saw him finish at the third spot in the 2015 NPC USA Heavyweight.

However, in the same year, he was able to secure another first position. This time, it was at the 2015 NPC Nationals Heavyweight. Post this, he began competing in the IFBB pro league competitions in 2016 and secured his first pro win at the 2018 Muscle Mayhem Pro. What prompted his entry ticket to Mr. Olympia 2022 mega-event was his convincing win in the 2022 California Pro.
