As the first Monday of May rolls in, it invites the grand fashion event, the 2023 Met Gala. Taking place in New York, the invitation-only event hosted about 400 elite guests in their avant-garde looks at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Thrilled by the occasion, journalist and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife, Maria Shriver shared a heartwarming update on her Instagram.
Shriver posted a couple of pictures from her time at the 2001 Met Gala, donning a timeless gown. Moreover, her caption revealed that she was fortunate enough to attend it with her parents and her cousin, as she looked forward to the starry looks.

In a throwback update, the 67-year-old author reflected on her past experience at the ‘biggest fashion event’ of the year. Approximately two decades ago, the theme was set as ‘Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years.’ Naturally, the Kennedy family featured at the event. “Since it’s the first Monday in May and the Met Gala is underway, I thought I would share some photos from when I attended… all the way back in 2001!” she wrote in her caption.

Furthermore, she added that apart from getting to wear the “beautiful” gown, her parents, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver also graced the event, along with her her cousin, Caroline. Expressing her excitement for this year’s glitz and glam, she added, “I can’t wait to see who shines tonight on the carpet! #metgalaflashback”
The pictures featured her famous parents, cousin, and glimpses of her simple yet dazzling look on the red carpet. She was going with the theme, emulating the look of the late Former First Lady with a taffeta dress. In contrast, this year’s theme is based on late German fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld, inspiring stunning looks from all the celebrities at the Met.
