Arnold Schwarzenegger once balanced a variety of jobs and positions. And in doing so, he successfully attracted the audience’s attention. Now, his son-in-law Chris Pratt, one of Hollywood’s most popular actors, does the same, combining a variety of movie personalities and genres in his projects. In an interview from 2015, Pratt revealed two of his favorite genres and some of his favorite actors. And no surprises – his father-in-law made the cut!

With movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World, and Passengers, Pratt loves combining action with humor. But when he had to choose between the two, he could only find comfort in one. Read on to find out which genre did the star choose?

Chris Pratt dreams of an action-comedy combo

Speaking to Today Online, Pratt revealed two of his favorite genres – action and comedy. Inspired by the heroes of the 80s, the star grew up watching Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, and Bruce Lee. From terrific fighting sequences to accurate kicks and punches, Pratt fell in love with action movies right from the start. However, the star eventually entered the stand-up comedy sphere and found some solace in humor.

While he would retreat to comedy, Pratt revealed how he always aspired to combine both action and humor. After all, his inspirations from the 80s have managed to nail the perfect balance between the two. The star specifically recalled his love for Chan and Lee. His love for action stemmed from movies like Rumble in the Bronx. And his love for fight sequences grew as he saw Lee’s speedy kicks. It made sense for him to love both genres alike since his idols perfected the combination.

He exclaimed, “Now, I am trying to do a combination of both. I don’t know whether I like one more than the other. I like to do roles where I can fuse them both together”. And while the actor has provided so many blockbuster hits, he still feels that he could deliver more.

When son and son-in-law made Arnold Schwarzenegger proud

For his action series ‘The Terminal List’, Chris Pratt worked really hard to make the story come to life. And for that, he needed brother-in-law Patrick Schwarzenegger’s help. The latter was cast as one of the actors in the series, and Pratt had some specific demands about the role that Schwarzenegger was supposed to fulfill. This included putting on some weight, getting into character, getting some tactical training, and so on. In the end, however, Arnold had a sweet message for both.

After the success of the series, Arnold complimented the men by sharing an Instagram story with a photo of the two men. The caption accompanying the photo read, “Proud of you @prattprattpratt and @patrickschwarzenegger”. The actor set a standard with his entertaining, action-packed roles, and evidently, his family continues to carry on the legacy.
