Maria Shriver has always openly spoken about various illnesses in order to throw light on them. Awareness, after all, is important when it comes to dealing with them. So when the news of Bruce Willis suffering from dementia came to light, the ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger was heartbroken, to say the least. Shriver took to Twitter to express her feelings about the actor’s illness and how it was brought to light. Actress Demi Moore made the announcement on Instagram.
While the news was devastating, she maintained that awareness in such cases was critical. Fans immediately backed her up with their own stories, experiences, and thoughts.

Talking about an illness like dementia isn’t easy. But it’s essential that it be brought to light. It was the thought that Shriver highlighted in her tweet. The journalist pointed out that while a diagnosis for a disease of this magnitude would always be challenging to hear, it though brought some closure with it. And fans not only seemed to agree but also came up with anecdotes of their own.

How the son and ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger took an important initiative
Maria Shriver and her son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, collectively decided to do something for an increasingly concerning illness. The mother-son duo started a protein bar company – MOSH Life – to highlight women’s Alzheimer’s disease. Since the illness needed more awareness, they began their protein bar company two years ago.

The claim behind the protein bars is that it is food for the brain. Meanwhile, proceeds from the bars would go straight to fund gender-based brain health research through the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement. Recently the bars also launched in certain stores after two years of production and availability online. Shriver is always one for talking about important issues, especially concerning illnesses. And now, fans back her up on the cause too.
