“We’re Not Friends”: Now Turned To Bodybuilding, Eddie Hall Explains His Rivalry With the Former World’s Strongest Man Hafthor Bjornsson

Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson share the fiercest rivalry in strength sports. Their rivalry began after Hall won the World’s Strongest Man Competition in 2017 and Bjornsson was declared the runner-up. Years after their rivalry in 2023, Hall opened up on his frank opinion about competing with Bjornsson and their rivalry in a conversation with Generation Iron.

Hall’s revelations are interesting considering the intensity of his rivalry with Bjornsson which can be by their open public dislike of each other on platforms like Youtube and Instagram. Not only this, Bjornsson and Hall also fiercely fought in the boxing ring on 19th March 2022,  giving fans a glimpse of the rivalry. Eddie Hall’s unfiltered opinion on Hafthor Bjornsson

Hall implied that for him, it wasn’t just about competing with Thor.

“I just wanted to punch him in the face”, he admitted. Continuing, he indicated that he was ready to fight with Bjornsson anywhere.

Later, responding to the question of whether there was still animosity between them he said, “We’re not friends. Let’s put it that way.” Further, he gave his opinion that both of them didn’t intend to be friends which was fine with him.

Afterwards, he elaborated, “He’s got his beliefs that he was cheated and I’ve got my beliefs that I beat him fair and square.” According to a report by Talksport, Bjornsson also accused Hall and the referee named Colin Bryce of cheating in the World’s Strongest man competition. This wasn’t the only time Hall spoke about Bjornsson. Before this, when Hall lost the boxing match to Bjornsson on 19th March 2022 in Dubai, he gave a public statement about the fight and Bjornsson.

In this Instagram reel shared on 29th March 2022, Hall praised Bjornsson for the way he fought the boxing match. Hall captioned this post, “Time to eat some humble pie!!!”

Further, he said, “I want to take this opportunity to say what a great strongman you are, or were.” Hall also appreciated Bjornsson due to his massive accomplishments, calling him a “phenomenon.”
