One of the greatest heavy boxers, Mike Tyson, isn’t called the “baddest man on the planet” for no reason. Working out the way he did during his prime days isn’t kid’s play. Bodybuilder and fitness YouTuber Gabriel Sey learned it the hard way. In 2018, he decided to spend “24hrs in the shoes of Mike Tyson.” He posted the video of the day on his YouTube channel.

It was around the time when two boxing legends came back for one final fight, despite having retired from the sport for years. The two boxers were Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. Sey, who had admired Tyson for over 20 years, was desperate to try out his training regime.

Sey’s day started with a run at 4 A.M. followed by a shower. After which he was supposed to go back to sleep. Initially confused by the routine, Sey called it “the calm before a storm.” When he woke up again, he had the typical Tyson breakfast. It included a protein shake, vitamins, peanut butter, honey, and oatmeal with fruits.

Post breakfast, it was time to hit the gym. He headed to the ‘New Wave Academy,’ wherein he sparred with the owners. First up were six rounds of pad work, three minutes each, followed by ten rounds of sparring, each lasting for three minutes again.

By the time Sey reached the part where he had to perform 2000 squats, he was already exhausted. Talking about the routine, he said, “I kind of want to call bullsh*t on this whole routine. The sparring took a while in itself. I’m going to try and knock out some of the calisthenic stuff now. It’s a ridiculous amount.” An exhausted Sey further added, “I’m a wreck right now.”

Though Gabriel Sey was worn out by lunchtime, he still continued. Showing his state, he put forth his hands and said, “I’m shaking, angry shakes.” For his lunch, he took some carbs, protein, veggies, and water. As soon as he was done with his lunch, he returned to doing squats again. Sey wasn’t able to figure out how Tyson managed to do so much in 24hrs. “I’m struggling to think how he had time to get all this done. So he must have eaten while squatting. Right?”

A few rounds of shadowboxing, push-ups, and sit-ups followed this. While doing these exercises, he said, “I’m in pain. I’m in severe pain.” Taking a snack break, he consumed protein shakes and half a dozen bananas. Followed by this was rope jumping and shadowboxing again. Gradually progressing towards the last phase, Sey had a salmon and rice dinner. The regime ended with a 30 minutes bike ride after dinner.
