From the moment Flex Wheeler signed up for a career in bodybuilding, he entered a world full of obstacles. From competing for the throne to getting over multiple health scares, passion was a pain for the champion. Although he bagged multiple Arnold Classic titles to his credit, he still faced the wrath of the field he chose. However, in an Instagram post, the Sultan of Symmetry didn’t look to flex his shoulder muscles, rather it was to sport surgical stapler pins!

In a recent Instagram post, the former bodybuilder showed off his shoulder with multiple surgical stapler pins. Since the sight was already quite gory, the champion wondered about various surgical procedures. He also asked his fans to justify the use of stapler pins for healing.

Fans debate with Flex Wheeler over his thoughts

The Sultan recently went on his third rotator cuff surgery. In an Instagram post posted a week ago, Wheeler shared a core ideal to live by for the bodybuilding community and athletes in general. He said, “Training properly, intelligently, is essential! Staying injury-free should be a goal for anyone regardless of goal(s).”

Upon recovery, he shared his opinion concerning how he felt odd about the post-operation procedure. The Sultan of Symmetry shared a picture of his shoulder while sporting stapler pins. In fact, he went on to call the method “barbaric” and “prehistoric“. However, he opened up the debate to his fans and asked them to provide some perspective. The reactions from his fans ranged widely. Some agreed whereas others chided the star for his blatant non-expert assumption.

Some fans were supportive of his opinion and commented, “You mean to tell me we got electric cars and handheld computers… but they still using staples on a living legend”. Others cheered him up by saying, “You’ve been through worse! What’s a few staples to the man of steel!! Get well soon Champ!” and “Nah, it’s hardcore just like you brother. Also, get well soon”.

However, most of his fans justified the use of the stapler gun to heal. One mentioned, “I think they opted for staples due to multiple procedures in the same area. Either way, I hope you heal soon, champ” while some reasoned saying, “I mean .. did they fix the problem ? That’s the main point right” and “Actually pretty effective and easy to remove. So no..”. Meanwhile, some fans even criticized Flex, with comments like “You’re not a doctor, so don’t criticize a doctor’s decision”.

With an insightful debate, Flex even replied to some comments, affirming his understanding and thanking his fans for the explanation.
