

Lou Ferrigno won the Mr. America and Mr. Universe award two times consecutively. The bodybuilder-turned-actor tried his hand at the Mr. Olympia contest, but could not bring the trophy home.

Lou Ferrigno turned 71 a few days ago but still holds a massive physique. Hulk famed actor once opened up about his career as a bodybuilder if he would not step into acting.
Lou Ferrigno said he would have gone very far
In 2019, Ferrigno revealed how far he would have gone with bodybuilding if he had decided to continue the sport. He replied that he could have won the Mr. Olympia title six or seven times if he had continued to train.

Ferrigno said, “If I didn’t go into the movie business, I think I could have won the Olympia six or seven times depending on how long I was hungry.” He also revealed that he could have held the title for a number of years if he desired so. He continued, “I just knew that if I was serious about my training, I could have held the title for as long as I wanted to.”
Ferrigno started his acting career when he was about 26 years old. In 1977, he appeared in The Incredible Hulk: Death in the Family. Since then, he has starred in iconic movies like Pumping Iron, Cage, Avengers, and Instant Death.
Ferrigno compared himself to Schwarzenegger
Lou Ferrigno also compared himself with his training partner and competitor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who won Mr. Olympia seven times. Ferrigno said if he had more time to train and tone himself, he might have outshone Arnold. He said that Arnold was in awe of his magnificent physique.

Ferrigno claimed, “He (Arnold) always said that if he had my potential, nobody could beat him.” Lou Ferrigno also pointed out that he was based in New York, and Schwarzenegger was based in California. Things would have been different if the former had the chance to train in California.

When Ferrigno was questioned about Arnold having a more finished look, he said that he was a rough diamond and Arnold was a fine diamond.
