Winning the Mr. Olympia title four consecutive times and securing the place of first runner-up six times, he was an undeniable force. However, the man who defeated ‘The King’ had his own reservations and fear.

Recently, when the former Mr. Olympia sat down for a podcast, he talked about his bodybuilding journey, and the person said who made him feel “envious.”
Jay shared why he felt envious
Jay described his own bodybuilding experience. He said, “When you’re a big body guy like, it’s really hard to peak, you know.” Sharing his own experience, the 4x Mr. Olympia added, “I was always envious of like the Dexter’s.”
Former competitor Jay who was 5’9″, was three inches taller than 5’6″ Dexter Jackson. Jay felt “guys that were smaller in stature” could peak more. Thus he was always on his toes to ensure that he left his fellow competitors no room.
Further, into the conversation, Cutler also appreciates their consistency and endeavors. For the unversed, Dexter Jackson, after 10 years and 47 contests, defeated Jay Cutler to bag the biggest win of his career in 2008. It was the same year that Jay could not claim his Mr.Olympia title.

Having tasted defeat at the hands of Dexter, Jay had legit reasons to feel envious. In the year 2008, 235-pound Jackson proved heavy for the 274-pound Jay. Securing seven crucial points lead Jackson to a comfortable win because of his superior condition and aesthetics.

After the competition, Jay commented, “I feel a little sad, but I have to be happy for Dexter because I know what it’s like to win.” Showing sportsmanship, he acknowledged, “You win some, you lose some.”
