Flex Wheeler explained why flirting is a big ‘no’ in the gym
Titled “Some unwritten rules of the gym you must live by”, Wheeler shared what can be called ‘expected behaviors’ in the gym. The bodybuilding community boasts of macho males. On the other hand, are females. They are equally passionate and there is a rising trend of females going to the gym.

He advised, “DON’T FLIRT…OR DON’T BE THE CREEPER GUY HITTING ON GIRLS HALF YOUR AGE.” In connection with this, he said, “Many of us might have found our last significant other at the gym.” He continued, “That’s still not it’s intended purpose.”
If she has her earbuds in, hat pulled low, avoids eye contact, he suggested to “leave her be. She’s there to get her workout in.” Wheeler was a dedicated bodybuilder at his peak. According to Ronnie Coleman, Wheeler was the best bodybuilder he competed against.
Flex advised to try not to be that person
The former bodybuilding legend advised on something as simple as blocking the mirrors. He suggested being aware of the surroundings and not jumping “in between someone mid-set and the mirror. Even getting a set of DBs, just wait a few seconds.”

Reminding of the fact that the gym is a shared space, Wheeler said “PUT YOUR SH*T AWAY!” Also advised that all the equipment needs to go back to its places. “Don’t be lazy.” Furthermore, he recommended taking responsibility for the place and “treat the gym like your home.”

He advised not to break things especially while ending sets as one might slam the equipment. Regarding hygiene, he said that nobody wants to deal with one’s sweat “And especially…don’t be the stinky kid…”
