Chris Bumstead shares how he finds the motivation to compete
2022 will mark Bumstead’s fourth year fighting for the Mr. Olympia Classic Physique title. Although the Canadian bodybuilder has been successful for the past three years, it has not been an easy task for him.
In Bumstead’s new YouTube video, he talked about his mental state and finding the motivation to prepare for the event. Bumstead shared how difficult it is to prepare for the same event every year and said, “I’m just doing the same thing year after year. That gets repetitive and old but beating myself every single year is not the same thing. I’m getting better every year and it takes more to beat myself every single year.”
“I’m ready to fu** up a fourth Olympia,” said a highly motivated Bumstead. Mental preparation is equally important as physical training for a prestigious event like Olympia.
The bodybuilder also added how the championships help him to become a better person every year. “My definition of winning has changed over the years. It isn’t just about trophies, money, and all that stuff. It’s really about the intrinsic growth I have within myself as well as my physique. I know this sport is currently still making me a better person,” he explained.
The YouTube series will consist of more such episodes where the bodybuilder keeps updating on his destination to win Mr. Olympia 2022.
