Derek opened up and said, “There are four ways to stimulate a muscle, right?” As he continued to name them, the two ways were common, and he briefly explained the other two.
While counting on his fingers, Derek said, “Weight, pretty much everyone knows if you add more weight, you’re going to stimulate the muscle different than lighter weight. Add more Reps, so instead of 10 reps, do 15 reps. What are the other two ways to stimulate the muscle?”
Lunsford continued, “Tempo, how fast or slow that you’re going in an exercise or in a rep, and also, the Distance, so how far, like how much can you contract the muscle, and how much can you stretch it.”
