Eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman has been talking about the 26th edition of the bodybuilding show named after him since January. One of the qualifiers for the NCP Nationals, the Ronnie Coleman Classic is among the most prestigious bodybuilding shows in Texas. Last year, the event took place at the NRG Center in Houston. The 2023 edition will be the 26th anniversary of the prestigious amateur bodybuilding show. In his latest Instagram video, Coleman and his coach revealed some exciting details about the upcoming event.

During the video, the former Mr. Olympia and his coach spoke about the venue and why they chose it. They also showed off the awards they’d give to the overall champions in each weight class. So let’s find out everything they had to say.

Ronnie Coleman and his coach, Brian Dobson, began the video by announcing that the 2023 Ronnie Coleman Classic is happening on 20th May. Dobson, who also owns Metroflex Gym, said the iconic event is “probably one of the longest running shows ever, in the state of Texas, if not the longest running.” He also mentioned that the event will happen at the Roundup Inn at Will Rogers Memorial Center, Fort Worth, Texas.

Coleman’s coach also said the venue is among the best places to compete. Dobson said the competitors won’t tire themselves because it’s a “20-foot walk” from “the backstage to the stage.” He also said, “We’re gonna have every single class in the NPC,” including strongman and powerlifting.

However, the highlight of the video was the awards that Dobson and Coleman showed off. The coach of the former champion bodybuilder showed off a glistening broad sword. “We got some really good overall awards. We’re giving away these broad swords for our overall winners,” said Dobson. Ronnie Coleman showed another award that the overall winners would get.

The Arnold Classic winner showed off Weightlifting belts and said, “I’ll even personally sign these.” However, to get them signed, winners have to visit Coleman’s booth at the event. Finally, the duo also said it is not too late to register, even with seven weeks left to the competition.

In the Instagram video, Brain Dobson said, “I know nowadays people think seven weeks is like impossible to get ready.” However, he said that shouldn’t be the case because seven weeks is enough time. In fact, “I believe, Ronnie and I probably did it many times,” Dobson said, to which Coleman agreed.

“If you’re not gonna be ready in seven weeks, you’re gonna be ready in 10 weeks,” Dobson told those second-guessing themselves. It is hard to contend with Dobson’s argument because Ronnie Coleman is among the most successful champions in bodybuilding history.
