Strong people don’t give up and keep fighting till they overcome setbacks. This is exactly what bodybuilding professional Jessica Anderson did. Battling the challenge of balancing her nursing career and trying to lose weight, Anderson didn’t quit. At this difficult time, she found a solution in bodybuilding and took part in bodybuilding contests. In a recent conversation in 2023, Anderson opened up about how bodybuilding helped her in her career as well.
Anderson shed light on her daily routine and how she challenged herself to see the results. An inspiring athlete, she is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado’s College of Nursing, and an aspiring bodybuilder. She also talked about how bodybuilding made her feel.

Jessica stated that she had always given exercise importance earlier and had even gone to the gym. However, later her health took a backseat. “But when I had my last child while earning my DNP, I really had a hard time losing weight because I was just too busy”, Jessica admitted. At this time, Anderson explained how bodybuilding helped her to focus on her exercise and health. This has made it possible for Anderson to effectively pursue her career in nursing. Her success is evident by the fact that she recently received a prestigious award.

Continuing, Anderson explained that her interest in bodybuilding grew during the Covid-19 pandemic. She liked that bodybuilding allowed her to be in control. Anderson also highlighted how it made her feel more positive. “I like to feel like I’m coming from a place of strength and power,” she remarked.

Talking about her routine, she revealed that she got up at 3:45 am to go to the gym. Like Jessica, another American bodybuilder, Kristy Hawkins also had weight issues early in her career. While Hawkins’s journey to becoming a bodybuilder was bumpy, she managed to achieve an unbelievable transformation.

Alongside her studies, Kristy pursued her bodybuilding interests. Participating in contests since 1998, Kristy always was one of the top 10 bodybuilders in bodybuilding competitions.
Her efforts bore fruit and she secured her IFBB pro card. She also said that she wanted to be an example that one can be a bodybuilder and still develop one’s talents. Needless to say, today Hawkins is an inspiration for millions of bodybuilding fans.
