Men’s open bodybuilding is one of the most popular categories in Mr. Olympia. Moreover, most legendary bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronnie Coleman, Dorian Yates, etc. are a product of this category as well. However, in the last decade, two bodybuilders have dominated the category – 7x winner Phil Heath and 2x winner Mamdouh Elssbiay A.K.A. Big Ramy.

However, Phil Heath will be seen in the commentary panel this year, while Big Ramy will be witnessed on stage defending his title. Let’s compare the stats between Phil Heath and Big Ramy, ahead of Mr. Olympia 2022.

Body measurements: Phil Heath vs. Big Ramy 

Phil Heath dominated most of the last decade with his incredibly massive physique that led him to win seven consecutive titles.

The 5’9″ tall Heath weighed 245-255lbs during the competitions. Moreover, he had massive 23″ arms with a 54″ chest. Notably, Heath also had a similarly indestructible lower body strength as his upper body. The former Mr. Olympia had mighty 32″ thighs and 20″ calves with a slim 29″ waist.

On the other hand, the current Mr. Olympia champion, Big Ramy, weighs much heavier than Heath, at around 295-310lbs. Ramy has bigger arms of 24″ and a bigger waist of 36″ as well. However, both the champions have similar height and chest measurements. 

Big Ramy’s biggest competitors in Mr. Olympia 2022

Mr. Olympia 2022 is predicted to be one of the closest competitions so far. On one hand, Big Ramy will be out to win his third consecutive title, whereas Brandon Curry will be looking to break the drought he’s had since winning the 2019 title.

To spice up the equation, these are not the only contenders. Excellent bodybuilding physiques of the likes of Nick Walker, Hadi Choopan, William Bonac, Andrew Jacked, and many more will be putting up a tough competition for the title.
