Brian Shaw is back again! It’s been seven years since he won his 4th strongman title and he is right at it again, grinding the stone for his 5th one. Significantly, this year would be the last in the competition, as the strongman announced his retirement in February. After dealing with his severe leg infection, Shaw is getting charged up to get to the field
As per the latest video on his social media, the 41-year-old giant got through to the second qualifiers of the WSM. Although that is not the only remarkable feat of the icon. Shaw showed another side of himself while cheering up and sharing kind words for a special boy he met at the event which made his fans teary-eyed. Have you seen this side of him before?

On April 21, 2023, Shaw uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel Shaw Strength, letting his fans know how he got through to the qualifiers 2 of the WSM event by toppling his opponent Rauno Heinla in the “stone-off.” His buddy Eddie Hall who is also the 2017 WSM champ, accompanied the beast on his venture.
As the video starts, Shaw was seen having a light-hearted moment with one of his opponents. Later on, as the video proceeds, the American powerlifter showed his incredible feat while performing the “kettlebell toss.”Evidently, Shaw has recovered from the life-threatening leg injury that he contracted in January. However, cut to the next and the best part of the video, Shaw met one of his little fans and shared a brief moment with the boy, who visited the event with his parents.
The boy, named Happy, lives with cerebral palsy. Happy, is a great fan of Shaw and managed to attend the event on his birthday to watch his favorite athlete. Shaw, delighted by his little fan, shook hands with him, gifted him a cap, and a t-shirt, and signed a badge for him. In fact, what caught the eyes of the viewers even more, was him addressing the crowd to sing the birthday song for the boy, which the fans appreciated the most.

Fans paid reverence to his beautiful gesture
After seeing this humble side of the legend, one penned, “This is what its all about man. I have a brother with cerebral palsy, and seeing Brian interact with Happy like this made my eyes tear up.” Praising his kind gesture, another user commented, “Brian is the definition of a gentle giant,”
Amazed by what he did for the boy, one follower added, “Brian is a big guy with a big heart! And an amazing strongman.” Continuing the same thread, another appreciated, “One of the most humble giant. The Happy birthday is just heart touching.” In fact, this video made a user emotional, who commented, “Actually made me cry with the kid part, you’re awesome Brian.”
