As per the social media update, the 59-year-old icon addressed the issue with a brief video and an elaborate caption. “The biggest thing is that if you want to grow muscle, you have to eat,” he said. Gaspari further iterated that there are no alternatives to growing except eating “the right type of foods.” Thus, the 3x Mr. Olympia runner-up wrote in his caption, “Beware of misguided trainers and Prep coaches. They will more so hurt you than help you in getting into shape.”

He also claimed, “There is a huge problem with starving themselves and messing up their metabolism.” Gaspari’s revelations were quite contrary to popular belief. Moreover, he took a specific instance of women indulging themselves in such unhealthy diets to grow lean or gain muscles. He added, “I see a lot of people, especially women that are on these diets, eating 800-900 cal a day, 30-50 grams of carb, starving themselves, lifting super heavy.”
