

Bodybuilding icon Chris Bumstead recently posted a YouTube video where he talked about his life before professional bodybuilding. Surprisingly, Bumstead revealed how the now fitness freak used to be a party animal back in the day. Hence, when he decided to quit playing games and turn to bodybuilding professionally, the transition did not happen easily.

Chris Bumstead is a Canadian IFBB professional bodybuilder. He hails from Ottawa, Ontario, the capital city of Canada. Bumstead has won three consecutive Mr. Olympia Classic Physique titles; he was also the runner-up in 2017 and 2018. He had to sacrifice a lot for his bodybuilding career, which mainly included his social life.

Chris led quite a social life during his college days, which affected his transition to bodybuilding. Like most teens his age, Bumstead was fond of partying with his friends. However, the sport required sheer focus and dedication.

“I was a huge social life guy,” Bumstead said and continued, “I partied a lot I got…Matt can tell when I was with MHP he wouldn’t be able to talk to me because I was like blackout drunk three times a week.”

“And I was like okay f**k if I want to do this and take this to the next level I can’t live like that,” Bumstead said, continuing, “I was living in a house with five guys in college who just partied.”

However, once Bumstead decided to turn to bodybuilding, there was no looking back. He was determined, focused, and ready to sacrifice his social life, among several other things, to achieve his dream.

Bumstead is a testament to the fact that hard work always pays off. Despite how difficult it was for him to get rid of his habits, Chris Bumstead gave it all up and began his pursuit of greatness.
