Lou Ferrigno started off as a successful bodybuilder, even beating Arnold in terms of size. He tried his luck as an actor and successfully played the Incredible Hulk. Although he shifted paths in his career, he never lost touch with the gym. Ferrigno took up the role of a personal trainer for the king of pop, Michael Jackson.

The pop star’s sudden demise came as a rude shock to the bodybuilder. Lou was training the icon for his final tour that the world was looking forward to. While the two-time IFBB Mr. Universe winner assured that MJ was healthy enough to be working out, he revealed a shocking fact about his final days.

Michael Jackson had an absurd diet, disclosed Lou Ferrigno

Before his death, the pop star was preparing for his grand return to the stage. Lou was MJ’s first choice as a personal trainer, as he trusted the bodybuilder with his chronic back issues. Given the high stakes of the situation, the ‘Billie Jean’ singer was naturally under a lot of stress.

However, a prominent observation that would resurface after the pop star’s demise was his weight. MJ looked really thin while rehearsing for his final tour and weighed just 130lbs before his death.

Lou Ferrigno addressed this issue post the pop icon’s demise. He revealed that while stress could’ve contributed to the weight loss, MJ faced another critical issue – his insufficient diet. The bodybuilder disclosed, “I think he was a vegetarian. And he only ate once a day.”

While the bodybuilder suggested some supplements to keep the pop star up and running, an insufficient diet could still be harmful.
