Bodybuilding and fitness star, Joey Swoll has consistently voiced his resentment for social media influencers, specifically, TikTokers filming in gyms. He claimed such feats were acceptable until they leave others unbothered. However, the moment it hinders the other gym goers, it’s a problem. Recently, the athlete took to Twitter to iterate the same once again. In the tweet, Swoll called attention to the mere fact that the gym is a shared space and any sort of entitlement is “ridiculous.”

The athlete shared a snippet of an influencer who seemed pissed at other people walking into her video. Reacting to the video, he denounced the stunt and imparted bold insights.

As per the social media update, the 5’6” fitness model expressed his annoyance over the matter. He held the woman responsible for causing a fuss in the workout space. “Filming in the gym does NOT give you priority over others. This is why so many want to ban filming in gyms,” the caption read. Evidently, the irksome video agitated Swoll as he strongly addressed it saying, “This sense of entitlement has gotten out of hand.”

“For you to get upset because there’s people simply in your video, going about their workout without bothering you, minding their own business… is ridiculous,” he added. What fueled his pique was when the woman seemingly asked a man to move out from her video frame. Thus, Swoll asserted, “Really? I’m sorry but unless your name is on that gym, your filming is never a priority over other people. They pay the same gym membership that you do.”

Furthermore, the 40-year-old athlete pointed out that a sense of mutual respect and a responsible approach towards filming is a need of the hour. “If you can’t film responsibly, if you can’t respect other people in a shared space… you don’t belong filming at all. You need to do better,” he concluded. Similarly, last month he condemned another video that trolled an elderly person.

Swoll’s revelations on the subject are inarguable. Gyms are a space for self-reflection and inspiration. Therefore, such acts affect its free-flowing energy. Hence, influencers must be mindful of their actions and make sure to comply with the convenience of others. What did you think of the bodybuilder’s take on the issue? Let us know in the comments.
