Space travel, a century-old dream, turned into reality a couple of decades ago, but humankind’s giant leap was not limited to the moon. In a 2022 Instagram video shared on 25th March, Kayla Barron, a NASA astronaut, gave exciting details about a space gym for bodybuilding. Talking about the benefits, she also revealed what the best part about the gym was. 

The Instagram post depicts Barron exercising on a treadmill effectively. In the video, Barron talked about the increasing popularity of a space gym named ARED. Speaking about the unique system, Barron also pointed out a common habit of people working out at the gym.

Barron captioned the post, “Astronauts on the @iss work out every single day to stay fit and to prevent muscle atrophy and bone density loss.” Further, she implied how working out in the gym helps her to cope well. 

The experienced astronaut explained the gym’s unique system that prevented any possible damage. “This has a vibration system to ensure that the load we’re putting into the treadmill as we run doesn’t get transferred into the space station structure which could cause damage to the equipment both inside and outside,” Barron remarked in the reel.

Further, Barron mentioned how the view from the gym was amazing. According to the NASA astronaut, people would “take pictures during breaks between their sets or just gaze out of the window.” She also claimed that the view was better than any gym in the world, albeit off-planet.
