In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone revealed that he once let go $34 million for a film. Sylvester Stallone said this happened while they were shooting for Rambo 3 and expected it to be a hit.
Sylvester Stallone was already paid $34 million for it. The filmmakers then decided to sign him up for Rambo 4, and Stallone wanted to hold down for a bit. Stallone said, “We want Rambo IV. Here it is: Pay or play, 34. I go, Let’s not jump the gun here …”
Stallone surrendered the eight-figure sum at that point. After accounting for inflation, $34 million from 1980 would be equivalent to almost $85 million. Stallone concurred that he occasionally feels ridiculous when he considers what happened.
