Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph Baena shares many things in common with his legendary father. Baena has big dreams, from his love for bodybuilding, a career in real estate, and wanting to make it big in Hollywood. So far he has starred in the indie sci-fi thriller Chariot, and the coming-of-age drama Bully High. However, the 25-year-old is still looking to star in a breakout role that will establish him among the top talents of Hollywood. While it’s hard to live up to the legendary movie career of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Baena is busy charting his own way. 

In a February 2023 interview with Inside Fighting the young actor revealed his intentions to focus on acting. While he will continue bodybuilding, Baena has no desire to go pro. Schwarzenegger’s son has been faithful to his words. A week before bagging a role beside Chris Hemsworth’s brother and Morgan Freeman, Baena had announced his involvement in another project.

Starring besides veterans of the industry

According to a report by Deadline, Joseph Baena has bagged a role in an upcoming film penned by Gary Scott Thompson and Dimitri Logothetis. Thompson rose to fame after writing the screenplay of The Fast and The Furious (2001). Since then, he has been a part of every film of the $6 billion franchise, including its spinoff, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019).

The upcoming project, Gunner, will star Chris Hemsworth’s older brother, Luke Hemsworth, in the leading role. The movie will follow the story of Special Forces veteran Lee Gunner (Luke Hemsworth), who goes camping with his two sons. However, things take a turn for the worse after the boys discover an illegal drug operation. Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman is also part of the cast.

Joseph Baena will play the role of a rookie cop, Wally. Earlier, the young actor shared two stories on his Instagram account. The first was the Deadline report, and the second story was a still from the set of Gunner. In the still, Banea was wearing the uniform of a Sheriff’s deputy, sitting on a pool table. “Deputy Wally reporting for duty,” wrote Schwarzenegger’s son. Barely a week ago, Baena announced his involvement in another project.

The youngest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger is on a roll

On 31st Mach, reports surfaced that Joseph Banea and Ludovica Frasca will star in a project by Josh Webber. Webber’s film, Athena Saves Christmas, is a family holiday film slated for release later in 2023. Randy Edelman, who composed the music for the two Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, Twins (1988) and Kindergarten Cop (1990), will also compose the score for Baena’s upcoming film.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has had a legendary career in Hollywood, becoming one of the most bankable stars of his time. Only time will tell if Baena’s holiday movie will be spoken of in the same breath as Schwarzenegger’s iconic holiday flick, Jingle All the Way (1996).
