Remember Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Barbarian? Scantily clad in a medieval costume, we saw Schwarzenegger carrying his muscular frame across the landscape of Hyboria, swashbuckling his sword. Who wouldn’t want to own that epic sword? Turns out, Robert Liefeld has been living the dream for years now, becoming the subject of almost everyone’s envy. In January 2020, Liefeld showed off his prized possession, the Conan sword, in a tweet.
Here is my CONAN sword, bought directly from @Schwarzenegger at auction at the Orange County True Lies premiere at Planet Hollywood in Santa Ana. He signed it for me at the event and I had it put in this elaborate frame where it’s been ever since. pic.twitter.com/YE3dzYIwMg

He shared multiple photos of the sword, and in the caption, he wrote, “Here is my CONAN sword, bought directly from @Schwarzenegger at auction at the Orange County True Lies premiere at Planet Hollywood in Santa Ana. He signed it for me at the event and I had it put in this elaborate frame where it’s been ever since.” To make things better for Liefeld, and worse for us, Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger himself signed the epic relic.
Liefeld framed it like the prize possession it was and put it on display. It seems like this is not the only collectible that Robert Liefeld possesses. In the background of the photos he shared on Twitter, other collectible items were present around the room. However, the sword would probably top the scale of awesomeness, as it’s signed by the embodiment of Conan himself.
This acquisition by Liefeld also became possible because two separate worlds collided.
The crossover between two prominent worlds
Robert Liefeld is a prominent artist and comic book creator from the 1990s. Although, the comics created by him still influence the world today. He created the character Deadpool with writer Fabian Nicieza. He really gained traction with his work on the comics The New Mutants and X-Force. Earlier a part of Marvel, he, along with other illustrators, such as Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane, left and together they formed Image Comics.

On the other hand, Conan the Barbarian is a cult classic that was created by Robert E. Howard in 1932. The adventurous stories of Conan first appeared in the magazine Weird Tales. Executives then converted the stories into the two Conan films, Conan the Barbarian in 1982 and Conan the Destroyer in 1984. At the time of their release, the films were not exactly a hit and faced some criticism. Nevertheless, they definitely launched the acting career of the bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger.
