Large-scale movements that help humanity often start with small steps. Maria Shriver went with this theme as she introduced the story of someone special. This story was so impactful that other members of the Arnold Schwarzenegger clan also shared it. The person in question was none other than Bobby Shriver, Maria’s brother, and a philanthropist.

In a video created and initially posted by Nas Daily, Bobby Shriver was the person behind the red iPhone and many other products in the color red. Purchasing these particular products meant that a portion of the sales would go toward charity, ultimately helping the needy. How did all of this happen, and how did Arnold’s family react to it?

The movement began when Bobby realized that many people died due to a lack of money and resources. He witnessed people lose lives because they couldn’t shell out 40 cents for medicine. That made him angry, and he decided to do something about it. Thus, came the inspiration of using the color red, signifying Bobby’s anger, for something good. Maria was inspired by this.

In a post dedicated to her brother, Shriver talked about how channeling anger into action had a lot of impact on society, and indirectly saved nearly 245,000,000 lives. She briefly spoke about Bobby’s goal and expressed how she was extremely proud of her brother. But Shriver wasn’t alone in supporting the philanthropist in his mission.

Bobby’s niece and nephew, Katherine and Patrick Schwarzenegger, also shared their uncle’s video on their respective social media. While Katherine wrote, “It’s my uncle Bobby! See all that he’s done with Red to save lives”, Patrick wrote, “So good!” Philanthropy clearly runs in the family, as Maria has also been involved in a special cause.

Maria Shriver and her work toward Alzheimer’s

In a step towards highlighting the severity of women’s Alzheimer’s and the need for a change, Shriver and her son Patrick created Mosh – The Brain Brand. Focusing on being a brain fuel, the snack bar emerged as a way of donating to the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

During Thanksgiving last year, Patrick and Maria took their charity up a notch and increased their proceeds. In a video, the mother-son duo declared“Yes it is because it is Giving Tuesday we are doubling all of our donations for Alzheimer’s research!”. Giving back to society is an essential part of humanity, and the Schwarzeneggers and Shrivers have always been trailblazers in that regard.
