In The Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger spoke about the effectiveness of diets. The bodybuilding said, “We don’t believe in good vs. bad diets.” However, the seven-time Mr. Olympia said some diets are more suitable for one than the other. “Case in point… intermittent fasting is a popular diet trend and can be helpful for many,” said Schwarzenegger.

“Several studies have already suggested that intermittent fasting can be effective for weight loss,” disclosed the former Mr. Olympia. He also said intermittent fasting is no more effective than calorie restriction. “It might not be ideal for maximizing muscle mass,” wrote Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Pump Daily. Intermittent fasting has become popular with fitness enthusiasts, and many believe fasting and working out can help them lose and build muscle. However, according to Schwarzenegger, new research has uncovered the dark secret of intermittent fasting. “People who followed a time-restricted feeding plan (AKA intermittent fasting) lost more lean mass than those who didn’t,” revealed the bodybuilding champion.

Arnold busting other dietary myths

The former Mr. Universe has also busted other dietary myths through The Pump Daily. Last month the bodybuilding legend spoke about an increasingly popular source of nutrition, plant-based milk. “Most plant-based milk does not meet proposed nutrition standards,” the Terminator actor wrote in his newsletter. He also said cow’s milk is more nutritious than most plant-based milk.
