Besides bringing bodybuilding to the masses, Schwarzenegger busted several myths surrounding the sport. Even after retiring from competitive bodybuilding, the ‘Austrian Oak’ continues to promote fitness. Now, in a bid to help the average American improve their fitness levels, the 75-year-old has started a newsletter called The Pump Daily.
In his newsletter, ‘Arine’ provides readers with fitness challenges, the correct way to perform exercises, diet advice, and more. He also debunks popular fitness and bodybuilding myths with the help of research. Recently, he debunked a myth about intermittent fasting.
Arnold Schwarzenegger points out a massive flaw with intermittent fasting

In The Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger spoke about the effectiveness of diets. The bodybuilding said, “We don’t believe in good vs. bad diets.” However, the seven-time Mr. Olympia said some diets are more suitable for one than the other. “Case in point… intermittent fasting is a popular diet trend and can be helpful for many,” said Schwarzenegger.
“Several studies have already suggested that intermittent fasting can be effective for weight loss,” disclosed the former Mr. Olympia. He also said intermittent fasting is no more effective than calorie restriction. However, Schwarzenegger wanted to address the popular myth about the relationship between intermittent fasting and bodybuilding.

“It might not be ideal for maximizing muscle mass,” wrote Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Pump Daily. Intermittent fasting has become popular with fitness enthusiasts, and many believe fasting and working out can help them lose and build muscle. However, according to Schwarzenegger, new research has uncovered the dark secret of intermittent fasting. “People who followed a time-restricted feeding plan (AKA intermittent fasting) lost more lean mass than those who didn’t,” revealed the bodybuilding champion.
Arnold busting other dietary myths
The former Mr. Universe has also busted other dietary myths through The Pump Daily. Last month the bodybuilding legend spoke about an increasingly popular source of nutrition, plant-based milk. “Most plant-based milk does not meet proposed nutrition standards,” the Terminator actor wrote in his newsletter. He also said cow’s milk is more nutritious than most plant-based milk.

However, the former bodybuilding champion also provided a way to make plant-based milk more nutritious. The ‘Austrian Oak’ advised his readers to add one scoop of vegan protein to their plant-based milk to make it nutrient dense.
