Societal norms can sometimes be harsh. There are lot many parameters that one needs to fit into. Sometimes it could be settling down, or sometimes, it could just be something as simple as accepting oneself. Being in bodybuilding Arnold Schwarzenegger is well-versed in the importance of body positivity. To help one fight insecurities, back in 1979, he came up with his book “Arnold’s Bodyshaping for Women.”

As Arnie sat down for a talk with Johnny Carson, he talked a lot about fitness. The rising star touched on some persisting issues and revealed how he felt he could be the one saving women from body insecurities.

Arnold talked about his observations

The former Mr. Olympia champion and politician discussed the importance of exercises and weightlifting for staying fit. As he expressed his opinion, he confessed, “I haven’t found a woman yet that was happy with her body.” He adds that he finds many of them complaining about their bust line.

Thus, bringing his experience, observation, and knowledge to good use, he quotes, “felt, I could be the one to save them.” All for a good cause, the Terminator star attempts to promote body positivity. In a willingness to help, he wrote a book that deals with exercises women can follow to get into shape.

In the interview, Arnold clarifies that he is “not being chauvinistic.” However, he can not help but say that women seem to be more conscious of their physical appearance.” For the unversed, this was Arnold’s first appearance on Johnny Carson’s show. He came to promote his new book, ‘Arnold’s Bodyshaping for Women.’

Arnold Schwarzenegger and his bodybuilding legacy

There’s no one better who knows the intricacies of bodybuilding apart from Arnold. A dominant name in the sport to date, Arnie revolutionized bodybuilding in many ways. He was not just the youngest winner of the title but the winner of Mr. Olympia six consecutive times. He was undeniably a force to reckon with.
