The legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most prominent figures in the world of bodybuilding. From standing atop the podium to lift the Sandow trophy seven times to establishing the roots of modern bodybuilding, the Austrian covered every alcove of the fitness industry. Though it’s over four decades now, since the Terminator retired from his beloved sport, he still enjoys working on his deltoids and maintaining his stature. More so, as people get old, they resort to lighter sporting activities. However, the Austrian oak continues to defy age and plumps for a disciplined workout regimen at 75.

While given the option of aging gracefully, people usually settle for it. But not Arnold Schwarzenegger. Though he left the bodybuilding arena in the year 1980, he never left behind his love for training muscles. In the Pump Daily newsletter’s recent installment, the 75-year-old profoundly chatted about the prevailing notions about aging and shared his own perspective. The Austrian stated, “As for aging gracefully if you mean slowing down and hitting the golf course instead of the gym, it’s not my style.Addressing his unquantifiable passion and determination of hitting the gym daily, the seven-time Mr. Olympia asserted, “I believe in holding on to everything that you can and letting go of what you can’t. So I’m not pissed off that I can’t still deadlift 700 pounds, but I still show up to train every day, no matter what”.

The bodybuilding demigod also shared his optimistic outlook on training consistently, without worrying about the past. “I realize my days of competing are over, but I’m not the kind of person who spends any time worrying about that. Any energy I spend to worry about the past is energy I can’t use in the gym today,” added the Austrian.

He then took into his consideration the challenges that come with growing age and mentioned, “I am the type of person who really lives in the moment, so I know my workouts now are all about maintenance and holding on to the muscle because it gets harder and harder as you get older. That becomes the new challenge.” However, to make amends with those age-related obstacles, he adapted to working out in the right amounts. So, he developed a workout regimen that keeps him fit and robust at 75.

In November 2022, the Austrian oak pulled off the curtains from his training layout that he uses as his go-to fitness drill. The Terminator stated, “My current fitness routine includes cycling every day for around 45 minutes to an hour. I follow that by working out with weights for half an hour. The training itself has evolved a lot from when I was competing in bodybuilding, when I needed to work out for about five hours a day.
