Before their famous Twitter feud, legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and former President of the United States, Donald Trump, were once friends. Naturally, when Schwarzenegger announced his electoral campaign, his billionaire friend came forward to show his support. However, the Australian Oak did not accept any kind of financial aid from Trump.
In an interview with the New York Times in May 2021, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed his reasons for not accepting Trump’s offer. Arnie said, “Donald was an old friend. He was one of the first ones to come and support me when I ran for governor. But I didn’t accept his money because he was with the gaming industry, and we didn’t accept any gaming money.”
Furthermore, when Trump announced his candidacy, Schwarzenegger did not support it either. He further explained, “And I did not endorse him or help him with his campaign because of his environmental stands.” Ultimately, their ideological differences put an end to their friendship and led to some very public brawls.
Schwarzenegger-Trump Twitter fued
Following the typical friends-to-enemies trope, Donald Trump and Arnold Schwarzenegger never missed an opportunity to take a swing at each other. When Trump still had a Twitter account, people got to witness the two quarreling with each other on countless occasions. One such feud was when Trump directly mocked Schwarzenegger on Twitter using the difference between the ratings of their respective seasons of a show.

Donald Trump and Arnold Schwarzenegger separately hosted the TV show, The Celebrity Apprentice, in the year 2015 and 2017, respectively. However, there was a vast difference in the TV ratings of the season-finale for their season. Trump used that opportunity to publicly take a dig at Schwarzenegger. And Schwarzenegger wasn’t one to stay silent.
