Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the most decorated bodybuilders, and NBA legend LeBron James once got into a showdown. But it took place neither on a basketball court nor in front of judges comparing their muscle mass.

No, they competed for the title of ‘who had a better playlist’. Schwarzenegger and James collaborated on an advertisement for a supplement company called Ladder. And the time they spent together came with shocking revelations for the basketball player.

Schwarzenegger told LeBron James about the strongest NBA legend

The former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, shared the advertisement on Reddit under his user u/GovSchwarzenegger three years ago. Upon urging from a fan, he shared some behind-the-scenes episodes with the NBA star LeBron James.

Schwarzenegger wrote“LeBron’s a great guy. I told him stories about training with Wilt Chamberlain back in the day, and he couldn’t believe it. Wilt used to do triceps extensions with the full stack.” He continued, “LeBron is really, really strong too. A monster.”

That’s right. The former weightlifter, powerlifter, and bodybuilder with seven Mr. Olympia titles under his belt, Schwarzenegger, was more than impressed. NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain’s prowess in the weight room is a popular tale.

Wilt Chamberlain, Andre the Giant, and Arnold Schwarzenegger did a movie together called ‘Conan the Destroyer’. But Schwarzenegger was already a big fan of the NBA legend before they met on set. Appearing on the BS Report podcast in 2012, Schwarzenegger detailed Chamberlain’s feats of strength.

“He came to the gym, and he would do a tricep extension — the big guys, the strongest guys would do 120 pounds, let’s say — he would come and do 150, 170 pounds,” Schwarzenegger said. “That’s how strong he was.” With two giants that dwarfed the bodybuilder on set, it became a competition.

The three athlete-actors would often go to dinners in Mexico City where they shot the movie. And making the massive Schwarzenegger feel tiny became a game for Chamberlain and Andre. “Both of them were joking about who could pick me up and make me look lighter and like a little fly. They were so powerful it was ridiculous,” he continued. Chamberlain could pick up the ‘Terminator’ star with one hand like it was no big deal. “He lifted me up with one hand like nothing,” Schwarzenegger said.
